Bonnie Hunter’s Garden Party

Welcome to Scrappy Saturday.  Today we take a look at the quilt that Bonnie Hunter showed us at the 2017 Spring Tea called Garden Party.  What a gorgeous quilt with all those scrappy red 1″ finished squares running through it.  This is a two block quilt with blocks set on point.  Bonnie told us the story of one of the pink fabrics in the quilt was from the leftover scraps of the dress that she made to go on the first date with her husband.  Wow!  It’s so cool to have fun memories in quilts!

Garden Party is featured on the cover of May/June 2015 issue of Quiltmaker Magazine. You can find the full pattern in the magazine.  You can also get this great pattern in Bonnie Hunter’s recent book, Addicted to Scraps.

The original “cross” block for Garden Party was called Hot Cross Buns.  It originally appeared in Bonnie’s Addicted to Scraps column in the November/December 2010 issue of Quiltmaker Magazine.
